What is the most important question that you can ever be asked? What is the most important question that you ever need to be able to answer with a confident, "YES?" This is it!

IF YOU DIED TODAY, DO YOU KNOW FOR SURE YOU WOULD GO TO HEAVEN?

That's more than a thought provoking question. It is a question that demands an answer. Various replies can be made including, "No, I'm not sure" or "I don't believe anyone can be sure" or "I don't believe in Heaven" or "I really never think much about it."

Of course, there is no question asked about the dying part of the question because we all know that we are going to die. Every cemetery we see reminds us of that fact. Every obituary we read in the newspaper reminds us of that fact. All of us know that physical death is a part of this life.

If that is true, and we all know that it is, then we also know that staying here in this life is not an option. We will not stay here. We will leave this life and exist somewhere else. The Bible reveals that only two places exist where people will exist forever: Heaven or Hell. How can you know that you are going to Heaven?

UNDERSTAND THAT GOD LOVES YOU
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).
No matter who you are or what you have done or what you believe, God loves you. However, His love for you alone does not give you access to Heaven or make you a Christian any more than one person's love for another makes them married.

THE PROBLEM: MAN IS SINFUL
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
We have all failed to be what God wants us to be. And the major failure of man is not believing in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. If we fail to receive Jesus into our lives, there is no cure for sin. The problem of sin is further complicated by the fact that all who have not received Jesus are spiritually dead (Ephesians 2:1-3). No amount of personal reform or self-improvement or moral adjustment can give anyone spiritual life. And people who are spiritually dead do not go to Heaven.

JESUS CHRIST IS GOD'S ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM OF MAN'S SIN
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us. In that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).
Jesus paid the price for our sins so that He might offer forgiveness to all who believe in Him as Lord and Savior. He wants to apply that payment to our debt of sin.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST AS SAVIOR AND LORD
"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God, to those who believe in His name" (John 1:12).
When we believe in what Jesus has done (came to earth as the Son of God, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, arose the third day, and ascended back to Heaven), repent of our sins, admit our need for forgiveness and spiritual life, and ask Jesus into our lives, we are saved and given spiritual life (John 3:36; Romans 10:13).

HOW CAN YOU RECEIVE JESUS RIGHT NOW?
Pray the following prayer, meaning what you say from the heart:
"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I have failed to be what You have wanted me to be. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and are willing to forgive me. I ask for You to forgive me right now. I ask You to come into my life and be my Savior and Lord. I ask You to give me eternal life. I give my life to you. In Your name I ask these thing, Amen."

IF YOU PRAYED THAT PRAYER AND MEANT IT, THEN YOUR SINS HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN AND JESUS HAS COME INTO YOUR LIFE
You have become a Christian. You have taken the first step in what will be an ongoing relationship with Jesus. Thank Him and praise Him!

NOW WHAT?

  1. Let someone know what you have done. There is someone who will be happy to hear about the decision you have just made.

  2. Start praying to God daily. Sure, it's something new, but you have permission to talk directly to God with the promise that He will hear you. Start practicing> You'll learn more about prayer as you grow in Christ.

  3. Attend church this Sunday and make a public profession of your salvation. You don't need to make a speech, but you do need to have your decision recognized before other believers. They will rejoice with you!

  4. Become involved in a church that preaches and teaches the Bible. You will need exposure to scripture to grow and fellowship with other believers for encouragement and support.

  5. Make yourself available to be baptized.

GOD BLESS YOU! If you've made a decision for Christ as a result of the Holy Spirit using this information, please let us know. Contact us via email or snail mail (501 Christian Drive, Bloomfield, MO 63825). We would love to share your testimony!
